The professional poker player, former cardroom manager of the Golden Nugget and Mirage, former World Series of Poker Director, and consultant for NBC via his company Poker Productions joins Mike and Adam on the show to shares some great stories about the history of the modern game of poker involving very notable names. Eric Drache is a professional poker player and poker consultant for NBC. Drache is perhaps best known for his managerial contributions to poker, which began during his career as card room manager working in casinos such as the Golden Nugget and the Mirage. In 1973 he was made the first tournament director at the WSOP and introduced four new events to the lineup.
Drache has worked as a media consultant on NBC’s “National Heads-Up Challenge”, FOX’s “Poker Superstars”, GSN’s “High Stakes Poker”, and CBS’s “International Poker Championship.”
On the felt, Drache is best known as a seven-card stud player, with 3 WSOP cashes to his name, totaling more than $325,000.
Today, several of Drache’s management innovations can be seen in card rooms worldwide. Tournament satellites, ante-structures, and “must-move” tables are his legacy to the poker world. Aaron Jones is professional online poker player and poker coach from Indianapolis, IN. While not at the table, Jones works toward completing a degree in philosophy from Butler University.
Aaron can be found playing both NLHE and PLO at the highest stakes online as well as coaching at LeggoPoker, a site that he co-founded. Though primarily a cash game player, Jones’s resume has been bolstered by a 3rd place finish in $10,000 Commerce Heads-Up Championship at the LAPC, and a WPT final table bubble (7th) at the 2009 Festa al Lago tournament.
