Pokercast Episode 338 - Phil Galfond, Farah Fath and Ben Tollerene
Live from the Two Plus Two Studios - This week on the Pokercast: Terrence is traveling to Macau, so Adam is joined in studio by co-hosts Phil Galfond, Farah Fath and Ben Tollerene. In the first segment the four hosts talk about some of the poker stories of the week including the 2014 Poker Hall of Fame inductees and the possibility of the Game Show Network bringing back High Stakes Poker for another season. Other topics covered are the movement to protect the casual online poker player with anonymous tables and lottery-based games like Spin and Gos, as well as the new Pokerstars policy to charge for foreign currency transactions. Farah, Phil and Adam then interview Ben and ask him about life as the most feared heads up nosebleed PLO player, his recent trip to the horse races and what his long-term life plans are. Phil and Ben break down a hand they played recently against each other that seems like a quads against top full house cooler, but there may be more to it than that. Phil talks about the challenges of running an online poker training site and he and Farah discuss the pros and cons of traveling to a place like Macau to play live nosebleed games. Steve Ruddock of www.onlinepokerreport.com joins the discussion in the first segment to discuss an article he wrote about the different approach Amaya Gaming seems to have now that they have taken over from the Scheinberg family. Lee Jones joins in later and talks about the new currency charge from the operator's side of the issue. The password is then given for the November 2nd Pokerstars Invitational for Pokercast listeners.
