- Live from the Two Plus Two Studios - Adam is joined by Terrence again and the feature guest this week is the Magician, Antonio Esfandiari. Antonio talks with the guys about his love of Burning Man, his run in the 2014 WSOP Big One One Drop and his new show "Underground Poker" with Phil Laak on the Discovery Channel. Antonio has some fun with the guys and plays "What does Lodden think?" and "How Much Ya Got?". Adam and Terrence also talk about the 2014 WCOOP, now in full swing at PokerStars including the High Roller event that had a prize pool of over $3.6 Million. The guys discuss a myriad of topics like patent trolls that threatened the future of the podcasting industry, whether a roast is a good idea for the Pokercast and Ross the producer shows up with a new soundboard for the show. Steve D checks in from the Isle of Man with updates from PokerStars headquarters including changes players in the UK are going to face and who should get the bounty in a hi-low tournament. Antonia Esfandiari, born December 8, 1978 is a professional poker player and former magician from Tehran, Iran. His poker career began concurrently with his professional magic career following an invite to sit in a game of Texas Hold’Em. Poker would soon eclipse magic in his life and he would go on to become a regular in the cash games at the Commerce Casino in LA where he earned nearly $1.4 million in 2004.
Esfandiari is a close friend and rival of Phil Laak, with whom he co-starred in I Bet You – a television show documenting the pair’s antics and prop bets. Antonio is also a familiar face on popular televised poker programs including High Stakes Poker and Poker After Dark.
Antonio holds 3 WSOP bracelets, a WSOPC Ring and 2 WPT titles. Hendon Mob lists his total live tournament earnings in excess of $26.7 Million.
