Live from the Two Plus Two Studios - This week the guys welcome back two fan favorites in Barry Greenstein and Alan Boston. Barry gives an update on where he's playing poker these days and tells a story about his poker playing days in college. Alan makes his yearly visit to set up the NCAA Basketball tournament giving us his first round lock and a possible sleeper. Jonathan Little also stops by to talk about his coaching availability at the WSOP this year as well as giving us some insight on how he has diversified himself so he doesn't have to rely completely on his poker earnings. Alan Boston is a professional sports bettor and world renowned college basketball handicapper. Alan has played in the World Series of Poker for more than a decade and has many top 20 finishes. Barry Greenstein is a professional poker from Chicago Illinois. Born December 30, 1954, Barry attended University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, completing a degree in computer science. He began a PhD in mathematics but left before defending his thesis. Greenstein took a job at Symantec in its startup phase and retired at age 36 to focus on professional poker.
Career highlights for Greenstein include 3 WSOP bracelets, 44 WSOP cashes, 2 WPT titles, and 5 WPT cashes. His tournament earnings top $7 million. Greenstein’s tournament success comes with an inspiring footnote – Barry donates his tournament profits to charity.
In addition to being known as a formidable cash game player, Barry has made appearances on nearly every popular televised poker program including High Stakes Poker, Poker After Dark, and numerous WPT events.
In 2005, Barry authored Ace on the River, his part biography; part poker book. He’s known for giving away an autographed copy to anyone who eliminates him from a tournament, which he inscribed with the details of the elimination hand inside the front cover.
