Katie Dozier
Katie Dozier is a professional poker player and entrepreneur with a lifelong interest in using succinct language effectively, which began with keeping a journal of haikus when she was a child. As she pursued her degree in creative writing at Florida State University, she found her love of tournament poker while playing in home games. After attending culinary school and editing a poker book, Katie's interest in the game peaked and she was soon a full-time player. Concurrently, she fulfilled a dream by becoming the restaurant critic for The Voice in the metro Washington D.C. area. As her poker and investing career continued, Katie studied social media, beginning with self-promotional efforts. She maintains her award-winning blog on CardPlayer.com and her website KatieDozier.com, and frequently garners media attention when playing poker tournaments. She co-authored two bestselling poker books "The Superuser" and "Pro Poker Strategy: The Top Skills" with her husband, Collin Moshman, and employed social media in order to promote them. Katie, one of the four “Grindettes,” produces well-reviewed poker videos for PokerStrategy.com and DragTheBar.com, and has coached many players through TeamMoshman.com. She co-authors a monthly CardPlayer Magazine debate column with her husband, and frequently writes for such publications as the PokerStars blog, and TwoPlusTwo Magazine. As of late February 2013, Katie will transition from spending half her time in Mexico (in order to play online poker) to making a full-time move. Besides playing poker, writing, and cooking, she also enjoys painting, studying Austrian economics, hiking with her yellow lab Wilbur, and travelling. Learn more about Katie Dozier
