Greg talks about his main event win, how his life has changed since, his role with the Poker Players Alliance and his plans for this years World Series. Jeffrey Pollack
Jeffrey Pollack formerly held the position World Series of Poker Commissioner and Vice President of Sports and Entertainment marketing for Harrah’s. Pollack holds an undergraduate degree in journalism from Northwestern University, two master’s degrees in political management and sports management, and has completed the Advanced Management Program from Harvard University.
Pollack joined Harrah’s in 2005, hiring him as Vice President of Marketing and promoted him to WSOP Commissioner in 2006. In November of 2009, Pollack announced his resignation as WSOP Commissioner and has since gone on to become CEO for Professional Bull Riding.
During his tenure as WSOP commissioner, Pollack introduced the format for the 2005 Tournament of Champions and will is remembered for his aggressive marketing campaigns, sponsorship deals, and corporate partnerships with major media, food, and beverage companies.
Jeffrey’s half brother is Gary Bettman, the Commissioner of the National Hockey League. Pollack lives in Los Angeles and Las Vegas. Learn more about Jeffrey Pollack
Greg Raymer
Greg Raymer, born June 25th, 1964 is a professional poker player from Minot, ND. Raymer attended University of Missouri – Rolla for a degree in chemistry before moving on to the University of Minnesota Law School. He practiced as a patent attorney for more than a decade.
Raymer is best known for winning the 2004 WSOP Main Event and for his iconic “reptile” holographic sunglasses he wore during his run. Greg is also known as “Fossil Man” for collecting fossils as card protectors before selling them to supplement his poker bankroll. According to Hendon Mob, Raymer has over $6.8 in live tournament earnings.
