The tours return to Canadian soil drew a record breaking turnout including many notable poker pros, professional athletes and mainstream celebrities. The guys get tournament wizard and fan favorite Jason Mercier on the line for an introduction to Open Face Chinese Poker, a variation of the popular card game that is sweeping the degen nation. Professional MMA fighter and poker enthusiast Terrence Chan also chimes in this week for a post fight interview after yet another victory in Battlefield Fight League. Jason Mercier is a professional poker player from Fort Lauderdale, FL. Mercier discovered poker at college, not realizing then it would see his career focus change from becoming a math teacher to travelling the world as a fulltime poker player.
In a few short years, Mercier’s tournament travels have net him nearly $5 million in earnings. In 2008, Jason claimed the title at the EPT San Remo event and later that fall Mercier finished first at the EPT London High Roller Event (as known as the 2008 £1 Million Showdown). Mercier has a WSOP bracelet from the 2009 $1500 PLO event and finished 4th in the 2009 WSOP Europe Main Event at a final table that included Daniel Negreanu, James Akenhead, Antoine Saout and Barry Schulman. In addition to 14 cashes at the WSOP, Mercier claimed first at the 2010 NAPT Mohegan Sun $25,000 No Limit Hold’Em Bounty Shootout and a first place finish at the 2009 Doyle Brunson Five Diamond Poker Classic $5000 H.O.R.S.E. event.

Terrence Chan is professional poker player from Vancouver, Canada. Terrence is a former Pokerstars employee. Chan left Pokerstars to pursue the game full-time.
Terrence is perhaps best know for his impressive performance in the 2009 Pokerstars SCOOOP series where he won two limit hold’em events simultaneously – the $500 medium buy in and the $5000 high buy in.
Other career highlights include 15 WSOP cashes (primarily in limit), including two 2010 limit final tables. Chan’s poker resume is rounded out by cashes on the WPT an APPT title as well as an assortment of deep runs in other international and local tournaments.
Terrence’s live cashes exceed $800,000 in addition to his impressive online resume.
