Tom Dwan, born July 30, 1986, is a professional poker player from Edison, NJ. Dwan’s poker career got off to an early start after leaving behind Boston University and his English major for “greener pastures”.
Now a high stakes regular both live and online it’s hard to believe Dwan had such humble beginnings. In 2004, Dwan began playing online with $50 he had received for his 17th birthday. Four years later, Dwan’s poker income topped $5 million.
Tom currently holds the record for the largest pot won ($1.1 million), which he was awarded on an episode of Million Dollar Cash Game. The previous record, already held by Dwan, was won during the filming of the fifth season of High Stakes Poker.
Though primarily known as a cash game player, Dwan’s live tournament winnings exceed $1.5 million, with 7 WSOP cashes and 2 WPT cashes that include a final table.
In 2010 Dwan joined Team Full Tilt, where he continues to play under his iconic screen name “durrrr.” Learn more about Tom Dwan
