PokerCast Episode 143 - Victoria Coren, Roland De Wolfe & Neil Channing
Live from the Two Plus Two Studios - The Two Plus Two PokerCast team returns from a well deserved week off to bring you a UK Special featuring some of the biggest names in poker from across the pond. Mike and Adam start off by connecting with Victoria Coren, 2006 EPT London Champion and recent recipient of 'Best Contribution to Poker' at The British Poker Awards. Victoria discusses her early days playing poker in Britain, her continued work as an established journalist and shares some great stories about her fellow poker pros. The guys follow that up by tracking down Roland De Wolfe, one of only two players to ever complete pokers "Triple Crown" winning a WSOP, WPT and EPT title. Roland and the guys chat about his deep run at this years WSOP Europe Main Event, his decision to leave journalism and pursue poker full time and even plays some word association. We're also treated with the return appearance of the always entertaining Neil Channing, who recently took down the award for "Best Cash Player" at The British Poker Awards. Neil gets into how his staking enterprise did at this years World Series and of course shares some great stories from the UK poker scene. Deuces Cracked coach Michael Newman provides some more great poker strategy about 'Three Betting' in this weeks Leggo Poker/Deuces Cracked strategy segment. Victoria Coren
London-based Victoria Coren is a writer and TV presenter. Her professional career kicked off early when she won a competition to write a weekly newspaper column at the age of 15. Roland De Wolfe
Roland de Wolfe started out covering the poker circuit as a journalist, and became the poker editor of British gambling magazine, Inside Edge. Roland used his extensive poker knowledge to improve his game, and began playing professionally in 2004. Learn more about Roland De Wolfe
Neil Channing
Neil Channing is a professional poker player and author from Reading, UK currently living in London. Born December 9, 1967, Channing was employed as a bookmaker at various UK racecourses before pursuing professional poker.
Channing is a regular contributor to Bluff Europe magazine and co-founded the site Black Bet Poker, where he also maintains a blog.
Career highlights include 17 WSOP cashes, the title for the 2008 Irish Poker Open, and cashes on the EPT, Grosvenor UK Poker Tour in addition to other UK based events. According to the Hendon Mob database, Channing’s live winnings exceed $2.7 million. Learn more about Neil Channing
