Jack Binion, born in 1937, is a well-known casino operator and son of the late casino magnate Benny Binion. Jack received his start working at Binion’s Horseshoe Casino and came to fame following his hosting of the first World Series in Poker in 1970.
Binion sold his interest (less %1 to retain his gaming license) in Binion’s in 1998 to his sister Becky, who would later sell the company and the rights to the WSOP to Harrah’s Entertainment. Jack continued to promote the casinos on Harrah’s behalf.
Binion was inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame in 2005. Recently, Binion held the position of chairman of Wynn International, which included the opening of Wynn Macau. He has since stepped down from the chairman position but remains with Wynn in an ongoing consulting role. Learn more about Jack Binion
