Born February 8, 1981, Bertrand “ElkY” Grospelier is a professional poker player from Melun, France currently living in London, England. Before poker, Elky was a professional gamer in South Korea, specializing in StarCraft. Grospelier got his start in poker when a friend introduced him to online poker at Pokerstars. Immediately, Elky recognized that the same skills that gave him a competitive edge in gaming would transfer well to poker.
Elky’s dedication to the game is obvious. He was the first player on PokerStars to reach both Supernova and Supernova Elite status. In 2009 Grospellier set the Guinness World Record for “Most Single Table Sit & Goes in One Hour, ” for profitably playing 62 hands in an hour.
Grospellier has 8 WSOP cashes, 1 WPT title, 2 WPT final tables, and 1 EPT title. According to Hendon mob, Elky’s live tournament winnings exceed $6.1 million. His online achievements are equally impressive, taking 2 bracelets in the 2009 WCOOP within 3 days of each other for a combined total of $500,000.
