Lyle Arnold Berman, born August 6, 1941, is a professional poker player and business executive from Minneapolis, Minnesota. Berman attended the University of Minnesota, graduating with a degree in business administration.
Berman’s business portfolio includes operating his family’s leather trade (“Berman Buckskin”) and Wilsons Leather, before moving on to become the CEO of the Rainforest Café restaurant/store chain. Berman has also held executive roles in various gaming companies, co-founding Grand Casinos Incorporated that later became Lakes Entertainment with Berman acting as CEO. Berman also holds board position with both the World Poker Tour and Pokertek, the developers of the PokerPro electronic poker tables.
Berman’s poker career highlights include 3 WSOP bracelets, 16 WSOP cashes and finished 5th in the 1989 WSOP Main Event. On the WPT, Berman holds 3 cashes and one final table. Berman was inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame in 2002.
Berman co-authored his autobiography “I'm All In: Lyle Berman and the Birth of the World Poker Tour” which chronicles his life, business endeavors and his experience in realizing the World Poker Tour.
